  • Ye Li, Nick Gaddum, Samuel Vennin and Marie Willemet participated in the ARTERY15 conference in Krakow, October 2015.

    Ye gave an oral presentation titled "Origins of the backward traveling wave in the arterial tree." Nick, Samuel, and Marie presented their research in the form of posters.

  • Arna van Engelen presented her study, "Can we accurately measure aortic lengths and pulse wave velocities from 2D cine images?" at the 32nd Annual Scientific Meeting of the ESMRMB in Edinburgh, UK, October 2015.

  • In August 2015, Jordi Alastruey visited Eugenia Corvera Poiré’s lab at Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), Mexico DC. Toghether, they developed a novel analytical approach to study blood flow in the arterial network, which was later published in Ann Biomed Eng.

  • Jordi Alastruey delivered 8 hours of lectures on "Modelling Blood Flow in Vessel Networks of the Cardiovascular System" at the international summer school Modeling and Analysis of Biological Network Dynamics at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China, in August 2015. Additionally, he was an invited speaker to the workshop Modeling and Analysis of Biological Network Dynamics.

  • Samuel Vennin, Marie Willemet and Jordi Alastruey attended the 4th International Conference on Computational and Mathematical Biomedical Engineering (CMBE15) in Paris, June 2015. Jordi co-organised a mini-symposium on 1-D blood flow modelling. CMBE15

  • Arna van Engelen presented the poster "2D versus 3D aortic distance measurements for MRI-based pulse wave velocity analysis" at the Joint BHF Centres of Research Excellence Imaging Symposium held at Imperial College London in June 2015.

  • Jordi Alastruey was an invited speaker to the BHF Centre workshop Heart Failure with Preserved Ejection Fraction held at KCL in May 2015. He gave a presentation titled "Computational modelling in the cardiovascular system and prospects for understanding HFPEF".

  • Samuel Vennin presented a poster at the Annual BHF Centre Postgraduate Symposium held at Guy’ Hospital, London, in April 2015.

  • Using our in-house cardiovascular simulator rig, Nick Gaddum conducted a practical lab session for third-year UG students of the BEng/MEng Biomedical Engineering programme in March 2015.
