I am a Master's degree student in "Mathematics and Statistic for life and social sciences: Modelling and simulations for Biomedical applications" at the University of Trento, Italy. During my studies, I have dealt with a series of different topics from various areas of mathematics, physics, science, medicine and engineering, with greater focus towards applied mathematics. I have studied numerical methods for the approximation of PDEs and seen how to apply them in the definition of mathematical models and I have also had the opportunity to study epidemiologic models, focusing mainly towards model choice, simulation and data analysis. During my Master's, I have worked on various projects, from the modelling of the role of α- synuclein in cell death in Parkinson's disease to the study of thyroid hormone and its effects on the body, together with the use of the software MatLab to process images from biomedical procedures to try and understand the extension and dimension of brain tumors. The main focus of my Master's projects, however, has been computational haemodynamics, with projects concerning prediction of FFR and benchmarking of solvers for 1D blood flow models.

In March 2023 I moved to London for an internship with Dr Jordi Alastruey and his group in the Department of Biomedical Engineering of King's College London at Becket House.

The aim of the project is to extend a currently available database of simulated pulse waves to consider heart-vascular coupling and cardiac pathologies.
