  • Jorge Mariscal-Harana, Samuel Vennin and Jordi Alastruey attended the ARTERY17 conference in Pisa, Italy, in October 2017. Jorge gave an oral presentation and Samuel presented a poster.

  • We have a new group member who started this September! Welcome to Weiwei Jin and good luck with her PhD!

  • Peter Charlton, Jorge Mariscal-Harana and Samuel Vennin attended the MEIMPEC2017 conference at Sandown Park Racecourse in September 2017. Jorge and Samuel gave oral presentations on their latest research, while Peter presented the results of his new article, for which he was awarded the Martin Black Prize for best paper in Physiological Measurement.

  • Jorge Mariscal-Harana presented his research on Estimation of patient-specific aortic blood pressure using 1-D blood flow modelling at the EuroMech Colloquium 595 in Lille in August 2017.

  • Jorge Mariscal-Harana and Samuel Vennin attended the Royal Society Summer Exhibition, where they helped present the cardiovascular research happening at King's.

  • Jordi Alastruey and Peter Charlton organised the course Applied Maths: Understanding Engineering through Numbers for the King's College London International Summer School in June 2017.

  • Samuel Vennin participated in the King’s BHF Centre of Research Excellence Postgraduate Symposium in May 2017. He gave the oral presentation titled Identifying haemodynamic determinants of pulse pressure: an integrated numerical and physiological approach.

  • Peter Charlton successfully defended his PhD research during his viva on 27 April 2017. His thesis is titled Continuous Respiratory Rate Monitoring to Detect Clinical Deteriorations using Wearable Sensors. Congratulations to Pete!!!

  • In April, Jorge Mariscal-Harana, Samuel Vennin and Jordi Alastruey presented their latest research at the 5th International Conference on Computational and Mathematical Biomedical Engineering in Pittsburgh, PA, USA. They all gave oral presentations, and Jorge also presented a poster. Jordi co-organised two mini-symposia on reduced-order modelling.
